Aunt Sarah's Apple Cake Recipe
~~ The Ingredients ~~~
6 medium apples, chopped
1 cup, raisins
2 cups, sugar
2-1/2 cups, plain flour
2 teaspoons, baking soda
1 teaspoon, cinnamon
1 teaspoon, salt
2 sticks, butter
2 eggs
+++ Frosting +++
1 stick, butter
1 box, powdered sugar
1 teaspoon, vanilla
canned milk
~~~ The Sequence ~~~

Combine apples, raisins and sugar in a large mixing bowl & let stand for 10
minutes
*
In sifter, combine: flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt
*
Add to apple mixture along with eggs
*
Mix with spoon
*
Add other ingredients
*
In 9"x13" sheet pan you plan to cook in, melt two sticks of butter (not
margarine!), then add mixture, leveling it out
*
Bake at 350 degrees approximately 40 minutes
~~~ Frosting ~~~

Melt butter
*
Add powdered sugar, vanilla and enough canned milk to make it a little bit
thinner than you would want to frost a layer cake with
*
Pour frosting over hot cake just out of oven
*
Makes a large cake
