An interesting turn of events . . .

This past Saturday, March 15 2008, I received a letter on official corporate stationery from the attorney representing Tommy Bullock who owns Bullock's Barbecue in Durham N.C. threatening very seriously to sue me for libel for recent remarks I added to this review about Mr. Bullock's bar-b-q.

While I am positive I could win this threatened libel lawsuit in court, I have a good friend who is a famous author who was similarly sued by someone, won in court but lost everything in the process, his legal fees fighting for the principles involved bankrupting him. This website and my responsibility to it and to you, my readers and fans, I take very seriously but quite frankly my considered opinions are not worth being sued over.

So, Mr. Bullock, you've won, congratulations.

Dear Mr. Craig:        This firm represents Bullock's Bar B Cue, Inc. ("Bullock's"). It has come to out attention through numerous sources, including customers, that you have posted defamatory statements about Bullock's on your website, hkentcraig.com. Specifically, on your website, you state that Bullock's " Offending words in orignal review that were quoted here in the original letter not quoted for fear of another threat of another libel suit " Thereafter, you revised this statement, but made further defamatory statement stating that, " Offending words in orignal review that were quoted here in the original letter not quoted for fear of another threat of another libel suit " These statements are completely false and constitute libel per se under North Carolna law.        We demand that you retract these statements and all similar statements regarding the sources of Bullock's barbecue in full from your website within ten (10) days of this letter.
