On the way back yesterday we stopped and had lunch at Wilber’s BBQ in Goldsboro. My first trip.

Was one of the best I have ever had. If not the best. Friendly people as always.

As soon as you walked in they dropped a basket of hush puppies on the table along with your own pitcher of sweet tea.

If you want something else to drink you have to ask for it.

Sauce Bottles on table are clear and made of glass so you can see the consistency & color of it. Everything done right.

They pit cook their BBQ over white oak coals. Nothing else. Three shifts of pit masters through the 24 hour day to keep the coals going and the barbecue smoking.

Enjoy the pics ~ Jason

Out back at their smokehouse. Pit master was named Sheldon or Shelton. I could barley understand him but he was super friendly.
The guys with the cowboy hat was just hanging out drinking beer at 11:00 am on Sunday morning.

Two Pits, the one on the right is used during holidays and wasn’t being used yesterday.
Sheldon said they cook 28 hogs the day before Mother’s and Father’s Day weekend and Easter.
