| Whenever I'm in Fayetteville N.C. on a business or personal sojourn and don't feel like or need a one-to-two hour jonesin' barbecue feast at Smokey Bones, then inevitably I'll make my way over to Barbecue Hut just off of Bragg Blvd. for a quick and good barbecue sandwich or two . . . not a great barbeque sandwich, not an excellent one but a good one that satisfies without astounding (especially when loaded a bit with Texas Pete, there being absolutely no preseasoning of any kind on the meat or in the very light vinegar-based sauce) , that fills the stomach's request without any pretense of it being anything else than what it is, plain pork barbecue prepared professionally - but not haute porcine cuisine . . . no spectacular sides, no signature dishes but no negative left-field blind-side taste-tackles either and the cleanest public bathrooms this side of Howard Hughe's old private john . . . for a quick, satisfying, cheap and very decent barbecue lunch, it's hard to beat . . . |
